Congratulations to Hamza Al-Lawati (Grade 9) for winning the second place in the "Young Speakers" Schools X STEM organized by Comex Oman today 23 May 2022. Hamza has participated with the innovative project "Storm Water Management in Al Ghoubra". Congratulations to the rest of the team from MSQPS grade 9A who worked together on this project.
This project was one of many projects exhibited at the school's STEM Festival held on 17 May 2022, and was chosen to participate at Comex. The "Storm Water Management in Al Ghoubra" project tackles the problem of flooding that occurs in Al-Ghoubra area whenever it rains heavily or Oman experiences a storm, and solves the problem in a way that takes away water to underground tanks, where water is saved for future use and solves the flooding issue in the area. The project module was made by students over the past 3 months with all details of tanks and real water from rain directed to the tanks. All materials used in the module were either recycled or made by the school 3D printer.
Other projects in the MSQPS STEM Festival included: Drone used for package shipping, Green cities with recycled and renewable energy base, saving the environment from plastic, Ocean cleaning using Robot, Waves Energy, Electrical cars, Energy created by Wind Mill in Dhofar, The Wheel of Oman in Jabel Seifah, Telefrik (cable car) in Jabal Akhdar, Al Amirate Tunnel Train, etc.
